Defend Your Home. Defend Your City. Defend Your Planet. EV 1/3

72 x 46 inches

This oversize monotype collage depicts a woman of color with her child, standing with power and dignity in front of her home, ready to mobilize to defend mother earth. The image of the house is a metaphor for the places we call “home”, whether it’s our neighborhood, our earth itself. The human species only has one home in the entire galaxy, and it’s planet earth. I created this piece in the months leading up to the People’s Climate March in New York City as a way to encourage people to view earth the same way we view our home, to fight for our earth, and to defend her from the corporate forces that are destroying her and devastating wildlife, oceans, animals and human beings.
