El Jardin de Gustavo 1
This piece is one in a series of nine collages that I created to honor my father's love for succulents and cactuses. My father passed away in June 2016. He was a joyful, peaceful human, and loved to take care of all living things, especially plants. As he was losing his abilities due to cancer, I began creating a memorial garden to honor his intense love for plants. Years after his death, his garden is thriving. Gustavo's Garden, as I call it, is a peaceful place to honor him and to channel my grief into new life.
