The Manta Experimental series is a vibrant homage to my Peruvian heritage, intricately woven with the threads of symbolism. From my initial journeys to Peru at the age of 15, the memory of the rich weavings crafted by the predominantly Indigenous artisans captivated me. These intricate tapestries held a profound space within my memories, inspiring my creative journey.

Drawing inspiration from these traditional weavings, I embarked on a mission to reinterpret their symbolism within my own artistic lexicon. I aimed to remix their essence through my distinct shapes and forms, preserving the spirit of tradition while infusing it with my personal artistic voice. Weavings and fabric-based artworks hold the stories and aesthetics of communities, serving as conduits for knowledge across generations. My intention was to translate these narratives onto paper, echoing the hues and patterns that once mesmerized me during my youthful journeys to the Andes.

The series itself is a venture into the realm of experimentation, a departure from my usual scale format. I envisioned these creations as intricate scrolls on walls, inviting viewers into a realm where past and present, tradition and innovation, harmoniously intertwine.
