This print is part of a collection of prints that celebrate my superpower which is cooking! I consider myself a culture keeper of ancestral food knowledge. I’ve been blessed with amazing abilities in my mouth and in my gut which allow me to tap into the true essence of different kinds of food from different cultures.

I show care for my community, loved ones, and myself by cooking delicious, plant-based food! I love the focus, care and attention that goes into preparing food from scratch. I love how I get to be creative and free when making food because it’s a lot like my art process.

Cooking for me is also about keeping alive a cultural language that’s about relationships, a relationship to what comes out of the ground and a relationship between the cook and those who digest the food. Cooking is about maintaining my ancestral practice.

As a plant-based/plant-forward person, I want to share my love for all that comes from earth that can nourish us. My garden has taught me so much about care and slowing down. I love to create dishes with the ingredients that the Earth gives us.
