Atomic

This serigraph emerged from a small watercolor experiment. I took an experimental approach and overlaid colors and shapes to create a female figure. She is powerful and grounded. The piece is named after one of my favorite songs from Blondie - Atomic.

My goal was to compose a body using large round shapes placed on top of each other in order to create depth. The most challenging part of producing this print was carrying over the colors from watercolor to serigraph, where I had less colors to work with. However, I was really satisfied with the simplicity of this print and it’s bold, primary colors.
