Big Sur

These works celebrate one of my favorite places to write and reflect. I started going to Big Sur in 2021 as I was working on my film about womb healing. I needed to be at a place where I could really delve into my memories and sit with some of the generational family trauma that I was carrying. I fell in love with the land and it brought out a really beautiful part of my story.

There was an exercise that my writing coach had me do, which was to consider what I would do if I only had one year to live. As I was reflecting on this question, I was staring out into a beautiful view of the ocean that I will never forget.

These screenprints are about the depth of my experience at Big Sur and how fundamental it has been to my creative process.
