This collection is the third series in my journey to explore how my characters transform when I create an expansive array of differences in the elements that make up the figure. Inspired by my exploration in the NFT space, I love the idea of changing elements of the characters, whether it be the color of the eye pupil, the color of the hair, the color of the shirt, or the color of the lips.

This series, Dreaming of Marrakesh, was inspired by a trip to Morocco in the Summer of 2022. One thing that happens a lot in my art is that I feel that through my mark making, I am able to anticipate the future. I created these collages before I traveled to Morocco for the first time as I was imagining what it would be like, and when I was in Marrakesh I was just blown away by the color combinations and the ways in which artisans would combine patterns. It reminded me a lot of this series and I felt that I had prepared my eyes to embrace the vivid colors I saw in Moroccan arts. I love how this series turned out, the colors feel so well matched together. I enjoyed combining my various libraries of patterns. A new filing system in my studio made it possible for me to organize my colorful scraps, which in turn helps me have more access to a wide range of textures and combinations. While each piece has the same core configuration, they are each so different.
