Dreams of Solitude
This piece is part of a suite of monotypes developed at SAE Editions in Palo Alto. Throughout my 2013 monotypes, I was growing more comfortable with my unique approach to ink layering, and was experimenting with different brayer sizes, stencils, drawing styles, and found materials. I also experimented with the viscosity of the ink, often covering the surface of the plexi with mineral spirits.
In the piece, the figure is dreaming about being alone. She is happiest when she is alone.
