Interlaced
This soft ground and aquatint etching celebrates queer femme love and the magic of the first kiss. The piece honors the bold, unapologetic queer art of the 1980s, especially the visual language of ACT UP that shaped my understanding of queer liberation and love. The lace woven into one character’s hair symbolizes femininity, tenderness, and care. Created in collaboration with master printer Nichol Markowitz at Moonlight Press, this highly limited edition explores a dreamy color palette and a medium that beautifully carries my drawing style.
