Let It Go

This collage is about releasing womb trauma and healing my vulva. In early 2021, I began to explore generational trauma in my family with the support of a healer, and I began to realize how much trauma I was carrying in my vulva and in my womb. I have had three abortions in my lifetime and I don't have a lot of memories about two of them. However, in my third abortion, I took the opportunity to really connect with my body and to build a relationship to my womb and to engage in womb healing. This meant that I needed to examine how womb trauma lived in my family. To my unpleasant surprise, practically every single woman in my lineage, both on my mother's side and my father's side, had experience womb trauma either in the form of sexual assault or separation from their children. And so in this piece, I began to examine how to heal from trauma, and it's a body of work that I'm going to continue exploring for the next few years as I delve into my healing.
