Man with Butterfly on his Mind IV

This series of works depicts a man who is imagining himself flying away to an alternate universe. He dreams of himself as a butterfly in the midst of transformation and migration.

This edition is part of a series of experiments in which I worked through various iterations of the same figure, using a particular set of creative rules during the printmaking process. These rules were: use the same ink colors, use the same black figure stencil, and use the brayers like ink brushes. Sometimes I would trap the color inside the black line, other times I would apply color outside of the black line.

This edition is one of my favorite bodies of works produced in 2013.
