Migrante

This woodblock print depicts the deep relationship between humans and our winged animal relative, the condor. The piece honors our connection to nature and to migratory birds. Like birds and other migratory species, humans also move from place to place in search of safer habitats. Migration is a natural act that connects all of life. The human being in this piece is one with nature, and extends an open hand to honor the power of the seed and to communicate with a higher universal intelligence.

I carved this oversize woodblock during a special artist workshop at Anderson Ranch near Aspen, Colorado.
