Moms Rising EV 51/60
This print edition celebrates the power and unity of mothers who are organizing to transform their communities and their country. This print marked the first time that I combined screenprint with monotype in an edition. I began with doing individual monotype compositions on each sheet of paper with oil based inks, and followed with 1-2 finishing layers of screenprint. The edition was developed especially for a pilot program by MACLA (Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latinoamericana) for their Community Supported Art program. The figure in this piece was inspired by a collaboration with Moms Rising, an on-the-ground and online grassroots organization of more than a million people who are working to achieve economic security for all moms, women, and families in the United States.
