No Genocide Screenprint
This print connects the dots between militarism, occupation, genocide, and gender violence in Palestine. It features a figure holding up a hand in a gesture of cessation above silhouettes of a crowd of protesters. The female figure is boldly saying NO to ongoing settler-colonial gender violence.
This piece was my second collaboration with INCITE! Women, Gender Non-Conforming, and Trans People of Color Against Violence and the Palestinian Feminist Collective. This art piece was originally printed as an offset and was reproduced in the thousands, distributed and wheat-pasted in the streets of major cities throughout the United States.
Through my work, I immortalize powerful moments of collective resistance and create visual tools for communities to express their outrage. The composition of this piece was inspired by a 1970s Vietnam poster that features a female character expressing resistance.
Proceeds from this poster were donated to INCITE to support the evacuation of the family of Heba Zagout, the Palestinian artist who was murdered with Israeli bombs in October 2023.
