We only have one home—Planet Earth—and in this time of climate chaos, it’s crucial that artists speak to a crisis that disproportionately harms people of color. Colonization and white supremacy created the conditions for the climate crisis through stolen land, stolen labor, mass genocide, and the commodification of human beings, animals, forests, oceans, and the Earth itself—systems whose remnants persist today. True climate justice is impossible without Indigenous sovereignty, reparations, Land Back, and racial justice. As a descendant of impacted peoples and someone who grew up in a polluted community shaped by extractive industries, I’m committed to protecting LIFE on Earth.
