Red

Red was one of my early attempts to study how I could create figures with my patterns and without a black outline, just by using shapes and textures. I was trained in linoleum block printing when I was first starting out as an artist and thus using the black line has been a defining practice for me. However, for this figure series, I wanted the shapes to interact with each other to create a softness as they touched. I love how this figure incorporates three different patterns that were created with my shapes and doodles printed via linoleum block.
