Remnants

This collage was created from various remnants of paper that remained after I created my large character collages. I have a commitment to waste as little as possible and I try to use every element of the paper. I find beauty in what people call “scraps.”

Sometimes, I want to create collages that are playful and that don't require me to think or to plan ahead. When creating unplanned works, I follow my intuition and use what is available to me. It’s an exercise in finding beauty in the elements that may be considered mundane or throwaways.

I really love the way this character looks like she's in a city surrounded with many different types of built structures, trees and plants.
