Self Care Bouquet 17
The Self Care Bouquets collection represents the small ways in which I create a loving and nurturing space for myself in the age of pandemic. I’ve been a plant mama that mostly focuses on indoor green plants and food that I can grow, and I wasn’t really into flowers because they require very specific care. However, once I started to grow them, I came to appreciate the ways in which flowers bring joy and life into a space. I love gifting and receiving flowers from loved ones. I love looking at the flowers and feeling alive by their color and knowing that bees were hard at work pollinating them. I enjoy going to my local farmer's market and getting in-season, fresh flowers to create bouquets throughout my home.
For this print series, I’ve experimented with linoleum block patterns composed of my favorite shapes and used relief printing and screenprinting to create a library of flowers that could be remixed in each work.
