Study For Ancestors

In this work, I celebrate my ancestors who I am able to connect to via plant medicine, a.k.a. psychedelics. Throughout my journeys, I often have visions in which I connect with my ancestors and I’m able to witness and hold some of the generational trauma that has been experienced by my lineage. In this work, my goal was to create an image that reminded me that my ancestors are always with me and that they protect me. I enjoyed creating this piece because it included three characters, and I rarely do three characters in a single piece. I also love the absence of the black line, as it allows the the characters to feel more connected to each other.
