The Refusal of Limitations

You can change your limitations, what you may perceive as good or bad, by viewing them as temporary boundaries that are yours to move. Limitations can sometimes create walls that keep us from experiencing the full pleasure and joy that is available to us as human beings.

In this monotype, I layered three primary colors that I frequently use in my work: Primrose Yellow, Hot Pink, and Ocean Blue. Each layer of color is a metaphor for my own lived experiences, one color overlapping with another to form a new tone, thus, a new experience. I ask myself: What areas are missing? What can I learn from the areas that remain untouched? Perhaps these blank spaces are a metaphor for the experiences that are yet to come.
