Artist Must Fight

This piece was inspired by African-American signer, actor, and scholar, Paul Robeson, who wrote, "The artist must elect to fight for freedom or slavery." Robeson has been tremendously influential in my art and activism. I designed this screenprint in the style of the Cuban OSPAAAL posters from the 60's and 70's which celebrated revolutionary causes.
