Everything Counts (You're Already Perfect)

This piece is about womxn who embrace their independence, freedom and power. The figure is a combination of a beetle and a bird, hence the wings and the delicate yet protective shell. I developed this piece as a self portrait celebrating the 22 years I spent as a single woman artist, traveling the world. I was 31 when I created this piece, and I felt that my life was perfect as it was.
