This is Planet Earth

The imagery for this print was inspired by my time in Vancouver in 2009 and explores the themes of collaboration, growth, and community. The figure at the lower part of the drawing is holding a life force in her hand and she is making sure it circulates to others in the group. My favorite character is the 2nd one up from the bottom. They remind me of a beaver.

When it came time to name the piece, I wanted to allude to the planet. In keeping with my common practice of naming my pieces after songs, I named this “This Is Planet Earth,” after the popular 80’s song by Duran Duran.
