Voices Are Power

This piece depicts a powerful Black woman speaking out and claiming space. The inspiration for this piece came during a trip to Lima, Peru in November 2014, where I participated in a feminist gathering of Latin American women. The piece is composed of both drawings and monoprints that include various shapes and textures from earlier works.

This piece was originally commissioned by the Global Fund for Women based in San Francisco, California.
